Hola, everyone! I'm Delsy Sandoval, your host for this inspiring event that took place on Jul 25, 2023 titled “so you want to be an author?” . It was truly a magical evening as we welcomed two incredible authors, Valeria Aloe and Ashley K. Stoyanov Ojeda, to share their extraordinary journeys as writers. Together, we celebrated the richness of Latine creative voices and explored how their non-fiction books evolved into powerful national movements.

Meet the Authors:

Let me introduce you to our guest speakers, starting with Ashley K. Stoyanov Ojeda. She's not just a community-builder and business-development strategist, but also a coach and socialpreneur hailing from Queens, NYC. Ashley's journey began in the music industry in 2012, where her passion led her to create #WomxnCrush Music, a network for local womxn songwriters that has now become a national organization empowering countless artists. She's known as the "Business Hada Madrina" for her support to others and has also contributed to The Mujerista Network, a digital platform celebrating impactful Latinas.

Next, we have Valeria Aloe, a true trailblazer in her own right. Valeria's journey as an author began with her book, "Uncolonized Latinas: Transforming Our Mindsets And Rising Together," a powerful work centered around mindset transformation and behavior change. Before venturing into writing and motivational speaking, Valeria accumulated more than two decades of experience in brand management, business development, and finance across seven countries. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the "Top 50 Women in Business in New Jersey in 2020" and the "5th most influential Hispanic in New Jersey in 2021."
